We continue to be inspired by how you’re giving back and supporting others during this unsettling time.
This week we caught up with Mobile QA Automation Engineer, Kiranmayee, who told us how she’s been bringing positivity to her elderly neighbours and friends over the past few months.
Kiranmayee said: “In my apartment block there are a couple of elderly women who live by themselves and have no family close by. They’ve been struggling to get out for their shopping and, like others living on their own, have been feeling very lonely and isolated.
“I’ve been grabbing what they need from the shops and leaving it outside their door. I’ve also been calling them regularly for a chat to help lift their spirits.”
And if that wasn’t enough – Kiranmayee has been putting the coaching skills she learnt through our Future Frontiers Giving Back initiative to good use too!
“I took part in the Future Frontiers 2019 programme which helped me to develop skills in career coaching. I wanted to use these skills to help friends who had been negatively impacted by COVID-19 and were feeling a bit lost.
“I posted a video on Facebook to let friends know I could help, and a few contacted me who were struggling financially after their jobs had been impacted. I helped them identify what else they could focus on during this time and the steps they needed to take to get started. Off the back of the sessions, one person set up a various fitness classes over Zoom, which I joined to help make sure everything ran smoothly from a tech perspective.”
