thetrainline proudly participates in various corporate social responsibility activities, including fundraising for charities, working with the community and reducing our carbon footprint.

Fundraising: In 2009, the company supported a team to complete the Three Peaks Challenge, a three day mountaineering expedition with all proceeds going to our company charity, Railway Children.

Community Work: thetrainline is a member of Business in the Community and last year, four teams of staff participated in their Give and Gain Day event. On the day, our staff went out to schools in London and Edinburgh and lent a hand planting vegetables, building sculptures, and brightening up outdoor spaces to give something back to the local community. And we had great fun doing it!

Environmental awareness: Whilst we have a carbon calculator gadget available for rail travellers to use on our site, we also focus on reducing our carbon usage internally. We have launched a ‘zero to landfill' recycling programme, which we take very seriously, and new joiners sign up to our Recycling Pledge to ensure that we are all doing the right thing.
