Everyone at Trainline does exactly what they do best. And even though we work in different teams, we make sure we perform as one company. With offices in London, Paris and Edinburgh, we always aim to work together in the most productive and efficient way.

Our established tech team are the experts who build scalable solutions that make a world-class customer experience for our app and websites. We stay on top of the trends, naturally, but we’re not about style over substance. The latest tools are great, but they’ll only get a thumbs-up from us if they can genuinely help us to help our customers.

It’s not just technology we invest in. We really look after our people, because giving them the right tools and teaching unlocks innovation. So, we actively encourage wider learning, training and certifications, and we give our teams time to focus on projects they’re really passionate about.

Price Prediction – one of our great app features, which uses data science to pinpoint the best time to buy your ticket – began on our Product team’s drawing board. Constant innovation – it’s part of our team’s DNA. Our main goal is to customise app functionality, to give our users a truly seamless experience. Agile working means new ideas can get released within just one week. And, our build, test and learn mentality means we’re always looking to improve.

You’ll work at speed, closely and collaboratively, in a team of Product Owners, Designers, Engineers, User Researchers and Data Scientists. You’ll have a hunger for data-driven results and you’ll be unafraid to bring new and disruptive ideas to the table.

We serve customers of all sizes from SME’s to some of the UK’s largest and most recognizable companies. Our fast-growing, entrepreneurial team covers business development, account management, strategy, product and marketing.

Customer Service and Operations

Wowing our customers is something we try to do every single day, and our customer service team pull out all the stops to bring smiles to faces, whether it’s taking a query on the phone or responding to a tweet. They’re on hand to help at every stage of our customers' journeys – from searching for tickets, right through to arrival at a destination.

We’re a fast-moving business, so exciting features and products are often being released or are in the pipeline. Our Customer Experience Team see to it that the day-to-day service isn’t impacted by anything new, anticipating any issues before they even crop up.

And, customer transactions are safe in the stable hands of our very own Payment Investigation Team, who handle payment queries and monitor suspicious activity on customer accounts.

But don’t just take it from us – this close-knit bunch won the Halsbury In-House Legal Team of the Year Award in 2015 and were shortlisted for the Legal Department of the Year (TMT) at the 2017 British Legal Awards. This team are fluent in legalese, naturally, but they can break it down simply and clearly to make sure everyone’s on the right page.

We love saving our customers money on their train and coach tickets, but it’s just as nice when we can save money ourselves, too. Our Finance team have a strong hold on the company purse strings because money we save can be invested into new technology, which in turn could help save our customers time and money – it all goes round in a neat circle.

There’s more to finance than just spreadsheets and auditing (but naturally we’ve got that under control). Our vertical structure means we can act as trusted partners to our teams in Marketing, Product and Tech to help shape strategies that are cost-effective. International growth is a big focus for us, so we plug into new projects at their early stages to make sure things are built in the right way from the get-go.
