The Team

The purpose of the Systems Acceptance team is to ensure that the quality standards of thetrainline.com’s systems are transparent to the business, understood and agreed, ensuring that these are met prior to implementation. This encompasses a variety of activities, including testing, accreditation, process improvement, matrix reporting etc.

The Role

The primary focus of this role is to work in the systems acceptance test team on a variety of projects. It will involve hands-on testing at different levels in accordance to project test strategies.

·         Define, create and execute test cases

·         Maintain testing standards in line with thetrainline’s testing vision

·         Create and implement tools and automated tests to improve the efficiency and accuracy of our product testing

·         Create and review test specifications and schedules with other teams

·         Assisting with test planning, maintaining existing tools and automation, and training other team members in thetrainline’s testing practices and techniques

·         Defect tracking and management, working with development teams to identify root cause and resolve issues, working with the business during UAT defect resolution

·         Identify and execute regression test cases from existing test cases and formulating these into regression test packs

·         Provide Test tracking and mapping into user stories

·         Database testing and verification

Knowledge and Experience

·         Minimum 2:1 Degree in a numerate discipline or equivalent commercial experience

·         Understanding of the basic principle of software testing

·         Excellent logical analysis skills and problem solving.

·         Self-starter

·         Ability to write basic SQL scripts for database interrogation

·         Ability to code in one OO language
