The Team

The Marketing Team focuses on building thetrainline brand, and on encouraging rail travellers to buy train tickets online by highlighting the significant savings that can be made by buying in advance through our site. The Team works on offline and online marketing, CRM and partnership development to offer the best products and services to our customers.

The Role

• The CRM Operations Assistant is responsible for managing the retention marketing campaigns for thetrainline.com and our Train Operating Company (TOC) clients.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to determine the implementation requirements of email campaigns and data extractions. Ensure these requests are adequately documented.
• Plan the execution of campaigns including data extractions ensuring deadlines are met and our data resources are properly exploited.
• Execute SMS and Email campaigns in our campaign management tools, working with the database and technical teams where necessary.
• Create accurate post campaign reports and proactively and independently provide recommendations for improvements to future campaigns.

Knowledge & Experience

• A demonstrated understanding and enthusiasm for internet marketing, with a specific focus on data driven campaigns.
• Experience using a campaign management or email marketing tool would be very favourable.
• Good understanding of basic principles of relational databases and experience using database reporting tools such as Business Objects, SQL or Smart FOCUS would be very favourable.
• Any experience in a marketing environment would be viewed very favourable.
• Educated to at least degree level (or equivalent), preferably with a numerical or business qualification.
